The Elfer's Cardiovascular Center merges new and existing Invasive and Non-Invasive Cardiovascular services into a multi-disciplinary care environment, creating a premier medical destination for cardiovascular patients in the Boston MetroWest community.
The Elfer's Cardiovascular Center (CVC) was designed to reflect the superior level of care being provided at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in conjunction with Massachusetts General Hospital Cardiology Division.
The heart of the Center is the continuing and preventative care provided in the 12 room Multi-Specialty Exam practice. Non-Invasive testing is provided in eight specialty exam/treatment rooms located immediately adjacent to the Multi-Specialty Exam practice. Complex and Invasive procedures are performed in two state of the art Interventional Radiology and Electrophysiology Procedure rooms, supported by an eight room Prep/Recovery suite and minor procedure room.
As part of their strategic plan NWH wanted to create a larger, more prominent presence for their cardiovascular services. Twenty-seven enabling projects of varying sizes were completed in order to make-ready the space required for the new CVC.
The overall design strives to provide an atmosphere that reflects the superior level of patient care provided by the hospital.
