When Wade prepares documents, he sees potential. "Being included in the design process makes me feel like I am a part of the future and the spaces in which people will be working and living," he says. As a construction specifier for SmithGroupJJR, he writes the supporting documents for a project design, working closely with the design team to ensure the building conforms to, and even exceeds the expectations of the client. Wade stays on top of LEED certification and other sustainable program goals, and can incorporate sustainable requirements into the manual to help advance sustainable design goals of the project. He's active in the Construction Specifications Institute, having served as regional vice-president, as national institute director, and on several task teams and committees. Outside of the office, Wade is an amateur naturalist, avid birdwatcher, and nature photographer.
